Hi, I’m Kelly Anne
Children’s writer and book lover.
Two of my favourite places to visit are bookshops and libraries. Luckily, my daughter has inherited this love of reading; we can easily spend many hours with our noses buried in a book. I am an animal lover as well as a keen baker. I live in Auckland, New Zealand, with my husband, daughter, and our animals – currently three cats and a dog. Over the years, we have also had goldfish, chickens, bees, and even a pet hedgehog!!
I love being creative, writing stories and poetry in my head while walking the dog, sitting in a local cafe, or writing in my office at home. I decided to get serious about writing a few years ago when a couple of characters took up residence inside my brain and wouldn’t leave until I had written their story down! Since then, multiple characters have and continue to, run through my head. I am amazed at the never-ending stories they want me to tell.
Nowadays, if I’m not writing, spending time with my family, or walking our dog, you can often find me in the kitchen. I enjoy creating new recipes, planning children’s parties, and indulging my sweet tooth!

When she’s not travelling worlds in her imagination or getting lost in other people’s books, Kelly lives in Auckland, New Zealand, with her husband, daughter, and numerous animals.
Kelly Anne is a children’s writer. She enjoys creating characters and worlds that make children’s imaginations soar. Owner of multiple pets herself, animals feature strongly in her junior writing. Kelly believes they inspire a sense of curiosity and delight that all children can connect with, regardless of background.
With a varied career working in hospitality and business marketing, she lets the creative side of her personality run free in her writing.
She is a current member of the New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA), Storylines, and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCWBI).
Kelly’s current writing projects are two different series of chapter books and a middle-grade fantasy adventure novel.
